Mark chapter 4

In the Book of Mark chapter four, Jesus told His disciples lets go over to the other side they left the crowd to go to the other side, Jesus was sleeping in the boat and there arose a great storm of wind waves beating against the ship filling up full. the Disciples became fearful feeling threatened, forgetting the power of the Man who was with them. they panicked. now these were seasoned fishermen... they new what it was like to be in a storm on the sea of Galilee. for them to be fearful it couldn't of been no ordinary storm. remember Jesus was asleep the storm wasn't a threat to the Saviour. being fearful and in panick they woke Jesus up saying Master carest Thou not that we perish ? Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm. Jesus said to His disciples why are you so fearful how is it that ye have no faith ? they then feared exceedingly saying one to another what manner of Man is this that even the wind and the sea obey Him? Jesus was aware of their circumstances even though it appeared that He was sleeping.

The Lord is aware of our circumstances and He does care, in this story a lesson can be learned how we should and shouldn't respond to fear when it comes. God's plan in the storm He allowed wasn't so they would crumble with anxiety , He wants us to come to Him in faith. the disciples on the way to the other side came to Jesus in fear and panic because of the circumstances.

He is aware of what we are going through, He cares and wants us to come to Him in faith knowing that like on that boat He has control of the wind the rain and the sea. how many times have we wanted to or actually cried out Lord don't you care that I'm hurting and afraid don't you see what I'm going through ? the storm may be raging around you. before the journey Jesus told the disciples they were going over to the other side of the lake, He had a destination in mind He also had a principle He wanted them to learn and follow. Jesus may have gone to sleep but He also allowed the storm to grow in magnitude so that the men would admit their only help was Jesus, once they did that He stood up rebuked the wind and sea . and then there was a great calm. God bless you all . Trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding, stop trying to fight in your own strength and submit to the Lord, no matter how seasoned you are or how well you think you know the battlefield we all still need Jesus. we can do nothing with out Him.

study

James 1:14-15) 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

in 2 Samuel 11 David arose from his bed and walked upon the roof and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. it wasn't David's fault when he seen what he seen the problem cam when David sent and enquired after the woman, she came in unto him and he lay with her, the woman conceived. David had a plan to cover his sin he arranged the death of Uriah. keep reading the story and see where it goes

Are you following another jesus or are you Following the Jesus of the Bible?

Are you following another jesus or are you Following the Jesus of the Bible?

GALATIANS 1:6-12) 6   I marvel that ye are so soon removed from Him that called you into the Grace of Christ unto another Gospel.
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the Gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an Angel from Heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

2 JOHN 1:8-11) 8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed
11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

JOHN 10:1-10) 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the Door is the Shepherd of the sheep
3 To Him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear His voice: and He calleth His own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when He putteth forth His own sheep, He goeth before them, and the sheep follow Him: for they know His voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which He spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

JOHN 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

many claim to be christian, are you living a christian life according to God's word

LUKE 9:23 And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

LUKE 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

LUKE 9:25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

ROMANS 6:3-4) 3 Know you not that so many as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His Death? 4 Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life.

ROMANS 6:10-11) 10 For in that He died unto sin: but in that He lives, He lives unto God. 11 Likewise reckon you also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
GALATIANS 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the Faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:15 And that He died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves. but unto Him which died for them and rose again.

MATTHEW 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved

JOHN 13:16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

JOHN 15:18-21) 18  If the world hate you, ye know that it hated Me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things will they do unto you for My Name's sake, because they know not Him that sent Me.

1 JOHN 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

MATTHEW 10:34-39) 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me.
39 He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for My sake shall find it.

MARK 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of Man be ashamed, when He cometh in the Glory of His Father with the Holy Angels.

2 TIMOTHY 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him: if we deny Him, he also will deny us

MATTHEW 10:32-33) 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in Heaven.
33  But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in Heaven.

PHILIPPIANS 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake.

2 TIMOTHY 3:12 Yea, and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

1 PETER 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps.

MATTHEW 20:25-28) 25 But Jesus called them unto Him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister
27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant. 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

1 JOHN 3:16 Hereby perceive we the Love of God, because He laid down His Life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the Brethern.

1 JOHN 3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

1 JOHN 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

3 JOHN 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth, even as thy soul prospereth

3 JOHN 1:3-6) 3 For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
5 Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;
6 Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well.

This verse is the main one prosperity preacher's love to use 3 JOHN 1:2 Becareful how you view that scripture notice He says that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth He never said fianancial riches He said prosper in good health even as thy soul prospereth. spiritual prosperity.

alot of prosperity preacher's will build you up in false hope they will build you up emotionaly and mentaly while they kill you spiritualy.

PSALMS 135:15 The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

DEUTERONOMY 32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.

MICAH 3:11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the Lord, and say, Is not the Lord among us? none evil can come upon us.

MATTHEW 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

MATTHEW 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

MATTHEW 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

MATTHEW 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

Not every preacher teacher man or woman who name the Name of Christ are trust worthy in fact Jesus made it clear take heed that no man deceive you , in the next verse Jesus said many shall come in His Name saying I am christ and shall deceive many. because they Name the Name of christ people in most cases automacticaly listen and deposit every word spoken by that man into there heart and form there believe system off of what a man says.

2 TIMOTHY 4:3-4) 3  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 TIMOTHY 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

MATTHEW 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Is your pastor preaching the full counsel of God ? or is he standing in the pulpit telling story's and towards the end of the message slipping in a few scriptures?

is your pastor giving the people a watered down version of God's Holy word ?

do you ever here your pastor preach against sin or preach repentance ? or is he a ear tickler?

many pastor's and ministries today have shifted there focus to church growth how to draw a crowd

Jesus is the Head of the church He always has been and always will be. in the Book of Acts the Lord added to the church daily they even grew in times of persecution. the Disciples preached the Truth with Boldness they never compromised for the comfort of others they didnt worrie about people being offended by the preaching of God's word.

all the religious programs entertainment and many other things that you see in churches today you will never find any of it in the Bible. so why do they have it ? they are building their own kingdoms they have taken their eyes off of Jesus. they have no fear of God they have no trust In the Lord
they trust more in there religious programs to draw a crowd.  they didnt see church growth as quickly as they wanted to why? because they are compromiser's who have forsaken God and His ways.

in Matthew 6:33 Jesus said seek first the Kingdom of God.

The proof of pastor's and ministries today building their own kingdom's is shown by their focus on prosperity in a financial aspect and their focus on growth in numbers. the more growth in numbers they mistakenly count that to be success. they have so focused on growth in numbers that they have lost sight of spiritual growth. being numb to conviction they continue on as if God doesnt see or know their thoughts intents and motives.

why wont these pastor's preach the Truth the full counsel of God ? why wont they allow other's to speak ?

HEBREWS 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

MATTHEW 7:15-23) 15 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in Heaven.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17  Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19  Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them
21 Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in Heaven.
22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy Name? and in thy Name have cast out devils? and in thy Name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.

Many pastors have taught that God wants you to have lots of money a nice big house nice cars and clothes a great paying job. thats a lie from the pit of hell.

MATTHEW 4:8-9) 8 Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them
9 And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

1 JOHN 2:15-17) 15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

MATTHEW 19:23-24) 23 Then said Jesus unto His disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

God shall provide your needs not your greeds

PHILIPPIANS 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

MATTHEW 7:13-14) 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Study on lying signs & wonders and Biblical miracles signs and wonders

EXODUS 7:9-10)  9  When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.
10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

it must be recognized that Satan can also perform lying signs
and wonders. Not everything supernatural is of God take a look at EXODUS 7:11 Perfect example

EXODUS 7:11 Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.

EXODUS 8:17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

Some signs & wonders cannot be counterfit take a look at EXODUS 8:18-19

EXODUS 8:18-19) 18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. 19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said.

DEUTERONOMY 13:1-5) 1If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder.
2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them
3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear Him, and keep His commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto Him.
5 And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the Lord your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

MATTHEW 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

MARK 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

2 THESSALONIANS 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.

REVELATION 13:13-14) 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

REVELATION 16:13-14) 13  And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

REVELATION 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

we are to be alert and watchful use discerment test everything thing . so concerning miracles signs and wonders test it is it Biblical. always test all things

1 JOHN 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Today many deny the power thereof of God , and believe that God cant use a willing faith filled spirit filled vessel . by the power of the Holy spirit God can heal people through your hands. Thats not my opion it is Biblical .

JOHN 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

MATTHEW 10:1 And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

MATTHEW 10:8  Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

MARK 16:16-18) 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My Name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

1 CORINTHIANS 12:10-11) 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues
11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He will.

1 CORINTHIANS 12:28-31) 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

                           The early church experienced miracles

ACTS 2:43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles

ACTS 4:16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

ACTS 5:12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.

ACTS 14:3  Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of His Grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

ROMANS 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the Gospel of Christ.

2 CORINTHIANS 12:12 Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.

ACTS 5:15-17) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16  There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation

ACTS 19:11-12) 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul
12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

ACTS 9:36-41) 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive

No matter who is the vessel God uses to bring about a miracle or healing
it is God Who is to get the Glory for it.

MATTHEW 15:31 Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.

MARK 2:12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

LUKE 5:25-26) 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, Glorifying God.
26 And they were all amazed, and they Glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day.

WE ARE NOT TO SEEK A SIGN

MATTHEW 12:38-39) 38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas

Scripture says that the signs are to follow us

MARK 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.

EZEKIEL 14:19  Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out My fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast

REVELATION 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

REVELATION 16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

REVELATION 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from Heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters

ISAIAH 14:12 How art thou fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

REVELATION 9:1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from Heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

REVELATION 16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

REVELATION 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

RUTH 1:20 And she said unto them, Call me not Naomi, call me Mara: for the Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me.

EXODUS 15:23 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.

JEREMIAH 9:15  Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink.

JEREMIAH 23:15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

REVELATION 8:12  And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

ISAIAH 13:10 For the stars of Heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.

AMOS 8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day

REVELATION 8:13  And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of Heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

REVELATION 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of Heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.

REVELATION 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready.

REVELATION 9:12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

THE LIFE CHANGING MESSAGE

JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

LUKE 22:63-64) 63 And the men that held Jesus mocked Him, and smote Him.
64 And when they had blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face, and asked Him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?

MATTHEW 27:30 And they spit upon Him, and took the reed, and smote Him on the he...ad.

ISAIAH 50:6 I gave My back to the smiters, and My cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not My face from shame and spitting.

MATTHEW 27:26-29) 26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.
28 And they stripped Him, and put on Him a scarlet robe.
29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon His head, and a reed in His right hand: and they bowed the knee before Him, and mocked Him, saying, Hail, King of the JEWS

MATTHEW 27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with Him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

ISAIAH 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; His visage was so marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.

ISAIAH 53:3-12)
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from Him; He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

4 Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth: He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; because He had done no violence, neither was any deceit in His mouth.

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; he hath put Him to grief: when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

11 He shall see of the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied: by His knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities.

12 Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He hath poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

JOHN 19:28-42) 28
28 After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

32 Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

33 But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

36 For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

LUKE 24:1-8) 1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee,
7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 And they remembered His words,

LUKE 24:46-47) 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day.
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

1 PETER 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

COLOSSIANS 2:15-16) 15 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross
16 And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it

ROMANS 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

ROMANS 5:8 But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

ROMANS 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

ROMANS 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:19  To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

TITUS 3:3-7) 3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His Mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost
6 Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour
7 That being justified by His Grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

ROMANS 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

ROMANS 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

ROMANS 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

JOHN 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

PROVERBS 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

ROMANS 10:8-10) 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

MARK 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

ACTS 17:30-31) 30  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.
31  Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead.

1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4) 3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.
4 And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures

ACTS 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

ACTS 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

ACTS 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

ACTS 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

ACTS 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

ACTS 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

LUKE 9:23-25) 23 And He said to them all, If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for My sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?

2 CORINTHIANS 5:15 And that He died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves. but unto Him which died for them and rose again.

ROMANS 6:10-11) 10 For in that He died unto sin: but in that He lives, He lives unto God. 11 Likewise reckon you also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

TITUS 2:11-14) 11 For the Grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and Godly, in this present world
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the Glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ
14 Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

ROMANS 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

COLOSSIANS 3:1-2) 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

LUKE 6:43-45) 43  For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

3/25/13 Todays study from the word of God .

Jesus Christ did not come to earth to start a new religion. in fact He leveled His harshest criticism at the religious leaders of His day.

He accused them of not knowing God and said they used religion to trap people in a life of misery, frustration and failure.

He claimed the religious leaders themselves were blind and had blinded the spiritual eyes of their followers. (see matthew 15:13-14; 23:13-23) He labled those leaders as hypocrites saying they had replaced the teachings and commands of God with commands and traditions of men. (see Mark 7:6-8)

Rather than starting a new religion Jesus claimed to be the fulfillment of all God's moral Laws that had been revealed to the seed of Abraham, the Nation of Israel ( see Matthew 5:17)

Jesus came to proclaim His Gospel of Light and Truth, to Israel first and ultimately to all Nations on earth. Rather than calling people to focus on religious ceremony, He told His would-be followers and Disciples If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me (Matthew 16:24) Jesus commanded His followers to believe that He was the Messiah sent from God, and commanded them to repent ( Change their lifes direction from one of selfcenteredness to a one of doing God's will) and to be baptized as a testimony of their repentance and new commitment.

At the Last supper He told His Disciples to remember the sacrifice of His Blood by partaking od bread and wine.

and His Great comission He told the Disciples therefore Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the Name of the Father the Son and of the Holy spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. ( Matthew 28:19-20)

wait a minute you say what about His statement to Peter Upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it ( Matthew 16:18) you might say doesnt that imply that Jesus came to start a new religion or church ? not really the Greek word that is translated church is the word ecclesia. it literally means a gathering of called out  ones. Ecclesia refers to any group of Jesus Followers who are called out from the peoples of all nations to Follow Him. Ecclesia had been used in common language for more than two hundred years before Christ and had never been used to describe a structured organization

I am not saying that churches as we know them are not ordained or called of God, few are.

But I am saying that a church or the church as Jesus refered to it, is not an organization or a building

rather it is a group of people who have been called out from the world to replace their self-centered values with faith in Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.

they have Grace-powered commitment to follow Jesus by embracing His teachings and doing what He taught.

unfortunately many churches have focused on calling people to join their organization and participate in their activities in place of calling people to become sold- out followers of Christ.

Although at times the gates of hell prevailed against christian organizations, they have never prevailed over the True followers of Jesus Christ nor will they.

Jesus is the Head, The Leader of all who follow Him - those whom the Apostle paul called '' the body of Christ '' .

in that sense He is the leader of the church. However I can promise that He would never describe Himself as the leader of religion.

Jesus' call to His Followers is to listen to what He said  and do it !

He gave more than 140 commands and instructions to His followers, and He tells us that when we are empowered by the Holy Spirit our faith is  expressed by doing what He told us to do.

we do what He says not to earn His Love or to merit eternal Life, but to express our love for Him and our greatfulness for Eternal Life.

we should recognize the importance of this

we should recognize the importance of this and ask ourselves what is the purpose of relationships that we have , is it God's pleasure ou...
