your mental attitude has everything to do with how well you perform in a fight. mental and emotional defeat will lead you to spiritual and physical defeat. your mental attitude controls what you focus on . if you see defeat you will then act in defeat . David had the right mental attitude when he went up against goliath .
if you are mentally and emotionally defeated before the fight you need to stand still renew your mind with the word of God and then engage the fight with a right mental attitude. we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
if our mental attitude isnt right we will engage in the fight with a carnal mind and if engaged with a carnal mind then the weapons we attempt to fight in spiritual warfare with would be carnal because of carnal thinking.
God's word declares that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ
