Godly sorrow verses selfish worldly sorrow

if there is a certain sin in your life that you can't seem to get completely free from 
you need to get on your face and cry out to God . maybe you get free for awhile but when the enticing temptation comes again you fall . you have to come to a point of hating your sin . if there is any like love or desire in your heart for that sin you will fall
Godly sorrow leads to repentance selfish sorrow doesn't ! what is the difference between Godly sorrow and selfish sorrow ?
selfish sorrow is more concerned with being punished being judged or what people would think of you if they knew .
2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
Godly sorrow leads you to repentance because your heart weeps and breaks because you see your sin for what it is and you see that those very sins caused Christ to be bruised scorned His head crowned with thorns beaten beyond recognition His Blood shed Him crucified up on the cross . Godly sorrow is when you are more concerned with the fact that you have hurt the heart of your first love .
your mind may know the Truth of God's Holy word but it takes more than head knowledge. has your heart embraced A LOVE FOR TRUTH that has so hid God's word in your heart that you might not sin against Him ?
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Psalm 119:9 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
carnal christianity has no repentance and no deliverence from bondage because their sorrow is selfish and carnal !
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
conformed means Fashion alike, conform to same pattern, give same form with
Transformed means Change one's form, transformed in mind and heart
Renewing means renovation which makes a person different than in the past, renew qualitatively
Acceptable means well pleasing , strive to make our lives acceptable & well pleasing
a renewed mind must so reach the heart that the thoughts intentions and desires are changed putting off the old and putting on the new. resisting the devil and submitting to God walking in newness of life as a new creation in Christ.
Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
Reign means to have dominion or dwell, prevail or be predominant
obey means to obey one's passions, thus becoming enslaved by them
Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
