Many people today in this generation are so careful to make sure that their car doors are locked their house is locked and their money safely deposited in the bank. to make sure no one steals what they cherish as valuable , and to have a sense of secure living.
why is it that more diligence is put into seeking to protect and secure these things ?
And why is it that so many lack diligence to prote...ct and guard their hearts and what goes into their minds ? is it lack of diligence or failure to take heed to what God's word says ? evil communication corrupts good manners. flee fornication no idolater shall inherit the Kingdom of Heaven etc..
Revelation 3:2-3
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Revelation 3:16-20
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me.
our heart bonds with whatever we treasure. the heart wil follow what it treasures.Lay up in store for yourselves treasures in Heaven
by actively settng our focus & efforts on doing thngs that store up treasurs n Heaven we wil focus less on acquirng & hoardng earthly treasure.
God wants your heart not your lip service. He wants Obedience! Abraham was willing to put his own son on the alter.
Alot of people are careful to check their receipts to make sure they get what they are supposed to and to make sure they are not being ripped off.
today alot of christians go by what a preacher says without ever opening their Bible to check the message for Biblical accuracy before depositing it in to their hearts.
2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1 Timothy 4:15-16
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
